Landscapes of Words: A Literary and Musical Journey Between Germany and Ukraine

November 8, 2026 · 14:30 Amerika-Gedenkbibliothek, Pop-Up-Saal, Blücherplatz 1, 10961 Berlin

Since 2015, German poet Ulrike Almut Sandig and Ukrainian poet and musician Grigory Semenchuk have performed together as the poetry-music duo „Landschaften“ . Their collaborative work serves as an impressive example of bridging borders—between languages, genres, and countries.

Now, the two exceptional artists present their joint creation to Berlin audiences. Through Semenchuk’s poems translated into German and Sandig’s novel Im Orkan (2026), inner and outer landscapes merge in their texts and songs. They speak intensely of loss and hope, of love and pain, weaving these experiences into an entirely new artistic narrative.

Experience a performance full of rhythm, connecting art, and profound poetry!
